An Rinn is a world apart - in its welcoming people, its scenery, its seascape and above all its cultural vitality. It is the only Gaeltacht area that exists in the southeast of Ireland.

An Rinn is a very picturesque area and is approximately 6 miles from the Dungarvan. It is located on the Helvick Head. The Gaeltacht area is synonymous with the Irish Language. These Gaeltacht areas are mainly found in rural Ireland and hold strong Irish traditions and are Irish-speaking areas.

To visit the Gaeltacht is to experience a unique culture while enjoying the many crafts, restaurants, pubs and outdoor facilities, which the area has to offer. If you wish to enjoy a strong tradition of Irish culture, An Rinn is the place. You can enjoy a Ceilí dance and traditional Irish music. The love of Irish music, song, dance and language is infectious in An Rinn.

There are many attractions within An Rinn for every visitor to visit. An Coinnigéar, a long sand-spit, stretches across the water towards Dungarvan. You can walk as far as the highest sand dune where you can capture the full flavour of the walk. Erin's Hope, an obelisk at Helvick Head, commemorates those who lost their lives when the ship 'Erin's Hope' sank off Helvick Head in 1867. The Famine Graveyard, a stark reminder of a sad period in Irish history, holds the bodies of a large number of people who died during the Famine. A remembrance stone to those that died called Reilig an tSléibhe, is erected at Pulla.

Any visit to An Rinn would not be complete without a visit to the Joan Clancy Art Gallery, where contemporary Irish art from young and emerging artists and also established artists is on display. A visit to Criostal na Rinne where hand made crystal pieces of undeniable beauty, gives every visitor the chance to see unique hand cut designs.
